Although this comes as a big boost, it must be considered that he did still take a hefty knock to the side of the head.

Chris Sutton was not impressed with Thierno Barry, who replaced the 28-year-old on Sunday afternoon.

He was not alone, with plenty of fans sharing their frustrations on TalkingPoints.

Jarrad Branthwaite needs to be replaced after injury blow

Everton confirmed Branthwaite does not require surgery after suffering yet another hamstring injury at the weekend.

Although it is to the same hamstring, it is an unrelated issue to the setback that saw the defender undergo surgery last year.

As Branthwaite will miss the remainder of the season, there is an expectation that Michael Keane will replace him at centre-back.

Moyes does have the option of also bringing Jake O’Brien back into his natural position, but that would leave another issue of replacing him at right-back.

Tyrique George could replace Dwight McNeil

It was not an afternoon to remember for Dwight McNeil, who had a big hand in Liverpool’s opening goal on Sunday.

During his 80-minute display, McNeil really struggled to provide a creative output, with zero successful dribbles and just one successful cross from five attempts.

Tyrique George did not make a significant impact when he came on, but now could be the time to give the youngster an opportunity

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has hailed George’s quality, but the Everton fans simply have not had an opportunity to see it in action.

Predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, George; Beto.
