Hugo Ekitike issued warning
Reds forward Ekitike has been warned that he will encounter some "dark" times in his journey to recovery after tearing his Achilles tendon.
Nonetheless, ex-Premier League forward Clinton Morrison has suggested the Frenchman could make a swift return, reports the Mirror.
Ekitike underwent surgery earlier this month, with a typical recovery period from such a serious injury being around nine months.
Speaking exclusively to Freebets.com, Morrison advised: "Just stay strong. Stay positive. Have good people around you. And in this day and age with all the medical technology available, it could be six or seven months."

The road to recovery won't be easy for Ekitike, as the former striker acknowledged: "He's young - you heal quicker when you're young. But yeah, there'll be dark places. Watching the World Cup will hurt him. And when pre-season starts and all your team-mates are in it and you're not - that's the hard one."
However, he remains optimistic about Ekitike's chances of bouncing back: "But he's had a very good season overall, he's still young, he's a top player, and he will bounce back. The people at Liverpool, his family, his friends - they'll all get behind him. There is light at the end of the tunnel."
Ekitike has already begun the healing process, taking to social media to express his gratitude for the support he's received. In an emotional Instagram post, he wrote: "It's hard, maybe even unfair. But I'm grateful this is happening to me here, among you. I'm not alone. Your strength and your love will be my driving force. See you again soon, Anfield."

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing AC Milan star Rafael Leao, who is also on the radar of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old winger has netted nine goals and provided three assists in 25 appearances during an injury-hit campaign in Serie A this season and he is said to be frustrated with Milan's impending failure to secure the league title.
According to The Daily Mail, Milan are open to offers for Leao, who has two years remaining on his contract, and are seeking around £60million for the player.
The winger has been on Milan's books since 2019, when he joined from Ligue 1 side Lille. He has scored 80 goals and provided 65 assists in 287 matches across all competitions.
With the World Cup on the horizon, Leao is expected to play a crucial role for Portugal, and his future could be decided soon.
In the summer of 2023, Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web revealed Liverpool had shown an interest in signing Leao. And the forward has already given his approval over a potential transfer to the UK.
Quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport, he stated: "I think every player wants to play in the Premier League because it's a very competitive league.
