Brighton are reportedly one of five Premier League clubs to have been approached by Harvey Elliott’s agents.
The midfielder has endured a tough season so far after joining Aston Villa on a loan-to-buy deal over the summer.
However, Unai Emery soon ruled that he would not have a future at Villa Park, which has seen him omitted from countless matchday squads to ensure that the £35million buyout clause in the deal would not be activated.
Elliott has therefore played just 110 minutes of Premier League football this campaign, and featured four times in the Europa League – where his appearances do not count towards the 10-game threshold which would activate the obligation.
With his career at a crossroads, having struggled for consistent minutes at Liverpool in their title-winning 2024/25 campaign, the 23-year-old is now seeking a permanent exit from Anfield.

According to TEAMtalk, Elliott’s camp have approached five different Premier League clubs about signing their client this summer, including Brighton.
The Englishman’s entourage hope that if the Seagulls manage to qualify for Europe, they will bolster their ranks and head into next season with a larger squad to cope with the additional fixtures. Brentford have also been approached with this train of thought in mind.
Leeds are also among those to have held talks with the players’ camp, though they are focusing on signings in other departments at this stage.
Fulham and Newcastle, who are both long-term admirers of Elliott, make up the quintet of those who have been contacted. However, they are both no longer interested in acquiring his services.
Brighton were heavily linked with making a move for the versatile midfielder last summer, with his friendship with James Milner previously deemed a selling point to the playmaker.
A move never came to fruition though, and with Fabian Hurzeler’s side boasting plenty of options in the final third at present, it remains to be seen whether any outgoings could prompt the Seagulls to reignite their interest.
