Sky Sports: Everton target reaches agreement to join Tottenham

Everton are now needing Tottenham Hotspur to be relegated in order to sign Marcos Senesi.

David Moyes has already lost Jarrad Branthwaite to another injury, which has put a strain on Everton’s defensive options.

Everton have extended Michael Keane’s deal on the back of the news, but it remains a position that could see the Blues strengthen over the coming months.

Senesi was an option for Everton, but he is now set to join Spurs provided they do not get relegated.

Marcos Senesi chooses Tottenham over Everton

It was made apparent recently that Spurs were closing in on a deal for Senesi. That agreement has now been reached.

However, Sky Sports Germany insist that the deal to see the defender move to north London is on the basis of them remaining in the top flight.

The 28-year-old, who is set to become a free agent, has given his commitment to the Lilywhites.

With five games remaining in the season, Spurs have an awful lot riding on their final games, with potential signings eagerly hoping for their survival.

Ironically, Everton play Spurs on the final day of the season, with the Blues also having a lot to play for in these remaining weeks.

Relegating Spurs would blow the doors wide open when it comes to Senesi’s future.

It has been suggested that Liverpool hold an interest in Senesi, with his decision to join Tottenham only highlighting the ‘London advantage’ that is so often spoken of.

He may have chosen to join Spurs, but Senesi’s future is by no means destined to be in north London.
