Report: Everton eyeing midfielder who is even smaller than Steven Pienaar

Everton are showing an interest in midfielder Milton Delgado ahead of the summer window.

Although David Moyes appears to have a number of midfielders available at his selection, it seems to be an area that Everton are keen to add to.

Everton have not made a decision on Idrissa Gueye’s future, as a host of names continue to be linked with a move to Merseyside.

Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?

Angus Kinnear and his recruitment staff are not alone, though. Leeds United and Crystal Palace are also said to be closely monitoring the player.

The 20-year-old defensive midfielder has made 14 league appearances this season for Boca, with 10 of those coming from the starting XI.

James Garner loves playing alongside Gueye, but, standing at 5ft 5in, Delgado would certainly provide a much different profile.

Everton target Delgado is even smaller than Steven Pienaar

The Blues have had a number of small players over the years, with the likes of Bernard, Aaron Lennon and Steven Pienaar all springing to mind.

Delgado would fit right in amongst them, standing at just 166cm.

For a winger, that would be seen as small, but acceptable. As a defensive midfielder, that would leave Delgado with a totally unique stature in the Premier League.

At the age of just 20, there is a lot of time for Delgado to improve, with his numbers significantly behind what Gueye is currently offering Everton.

Bringing a player of this size into the most physical league in Europe would certainly prove a big risk for the Blues.

However, he is a player seemingly on the radar of other clubs across the country.
