**Pierre Kalulu will return to San Siro again as a Juventus player on Sunday and to many, he is one of the biggest regrets of recent years at AC Milan.**
In the past two seasons, Kalulu has shone for Juventus. He has looked like his former self, whilst also displaying more mature traits. A sign that maybe Milan were wrong to sell him for such a low fee after a year’s loan.
At the time, many disagreed with his departure and now, seeing the levels which he has shown in Turin, that regret has only deepened.
Regret doesn’t fade

It was a sale that made sense internally, though. As [Gazzetta dello Sport](https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Juventus/23-04-2026/milan-juve-kalulu-e-un-rimpianto-rossonero.shtml) writes, the Frenchman struggled with plenty of big injuries.
Issues with his thigh and tendon saw him miss large parts of the season. Then, a knee injury halted his return. There can be no denying that it was a sad ending and considering that those injuries have so regularly plagued the club, it was understandable why there was not much interest in taking the risk.
However, Paulo Fonseca’s difficulty to see him in the squad sealed the deal and that is where Juventus swooped in and made their move.
The signing of Strahinja Pavlovic [**also played a part**](https://sempremilan.com/cm-ibrahimovic-gamble-why-milan-kalulu-juventus), with the Rossoneri gambling on his addition to the squad. Given how the Serbian has been this season, it may be a good gamble in the future. Though, the regret of Kalulu’s departure is unlikely to fade.
