Liverpool may be able to get Denzel Dumfries for less than his £21.7m release clause at Inter Milan this summer.
The Reds could be in the market for a new right-back having seen Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong fail to make the position their own, with journalist Paul Joyce confirming that Dumfries is being monitored.
Despite having recently turned 30, the Dutchman would represent value at less than £22m, and according to Italian site Calciomercato, Liverpool could even shave a little extra from the price tag.
With Arne Slot expected to stay, will Liverpool challenge for the Premier League next season?
Or will it be another difficult campaign? 😬

Inter may accept less than £18m for Dumfries
Having been forced into playing Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo at right-back this season, Liverpool certainly do need to think about next year’s plans for the position.
Experienced, proven and available, Dumfries would represent a very solid option for Arne Slot.
The 30-year-old seemingly came close to joining Liverpool in January, with Calciomercato suggesting that his father and agent, Boris, was left ‘discontent’ that the Anfield transfer never happened.
Despite reports that Dumfries has swapped agents recently, it is claimed that Boris is the one who ultimately handles his son’s affairs, and he has been employing various different intermediaries to fulfil Denzel’s dream of landing in the Premier League.

That effort is said to be underway once again ahead of the summer, when Inter are reportedly prepared to accept a little less than Dumfries’ release clause.
With the clause set at around £21.7m, it is claimed that the likely Italian champions will do business at £17.3m.
Dumfries has been described as being a ‘fury’ and ‘dangerous‘ as an attacking force during his time with Inter, and for such a bargain price, it is no wonder Liverpool are considering a move.
Already well-known to the Reds’ Dutch contingent, he should be able to settle in quickly and provide Slot with more security in depth at right-back. With so much for Liverpool to do this summer, boxing off the right-back position for such a good fee should hold great appeal. We’d say this one certainly seems to have legs ahead of the summer.
