Friday brought another busy day of Liverpool news, including renewed links with Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries and an update on Alexis Mac Allister.
Dumfries to Liverpool? Mac Allister doubts?
Liverpool weighed up a move for Inter Milan wing-back Dumfries in January and the Times‘ Paul Joyce has now mooted a possible summer deal.

In a wider column on the club’s priorities for a summer in which they are expected to stick with Arne Slot as head coach, advances for the Netherlands right-sider are suggested.
“Slot pointed out recently that it is not the club’s model to buy older players, but they are also aware of the situation of Dumfries, who turned 30 last weekend,” Joyce wrote.
This comes with Calciomercato claiming Dumfries’ father and agent, Boris, is pushing the Dutchman’s “dream” move to the Premier League.
Dumfries is likely to be available for around €20 million (£17.3m).

Meanwhile, both Joyce and the Mail‘s Lewis Steele report that there are no talks ongoing over Mac Allister‘s contract.
The midfielder’s current deal runs to 2028, but unlike Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai there is no urgency to extend it, leading to speculation over a summer exit.

Liverpool are interested in RB Leipzig right winger Yan Diomande and he could be the ideal successor to Mo Salah this summer, writes Jack Lusby:
“In short, Diomande is something of a unicorn of a winger in this modern age of strict, tactical football, and while he is clearly not at Salah’s level yet, he is one of the best available options for Liverpool as they search for his successor.
“More will be needed to complement the Ivorian – and it could be that he is joined by countryman and natural left winger Bazoumana Toure, currently of Hoffenheim – but Leipzig’s No. 49 could help kickstart another sorely needed attacking shift at Liverpool.”

Liverpool FC: On this day

Divock Origi scored his 41st and final goal for Liverpool on April 24, 2022 – and to nobody’s surprise it came against Everton!
The Reds took on their neighbours at Anfield, with Andy Robertson an unusual opening goalscorer after an hour of play.
Origi then scored his sixth goal against Everton and his 11th league goal off the bench – a Premier League-era club record – to secure the victory.
