Arne Slot has refused to rule out Alisson leaving Liverpool this summer, despite the goalkeeper having recently had his contract extension activated by the club.
With Andy Robertson and Mo Salah leaving Liverpool, there will be just three remaining members of the 2019 Champions League-winning squad left at the club: Alisson, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk.
Alisson‘s deal doesn’t expire until 2027, but recent reports from Italy suggest he is considering a move to Juventus.
Asked by media, including the Liverpool Echo, if Liverpool could afford to lose another experienced player, Slot refused to rule out Alisson‘s departure.

“I think the club is run in a certain way and we make decisions that the club thinks are in the best interests of the club,” said Slot.
“And it could mean this is the reason why, it could mean another good argument why we acted how we acted.
“I think the history of all the transfers shows that nothing was done without a purpose or without thinking about it.
“Look, the people who make these decisions take everything into account. They try to make the best decisions with the interest of the club.
“It (experience) is definitely one argument to keep him but there are other arguments. That is a decision the club has to make if that is needed. In the end, he still has one year.”

When Slot mentions the club being “run in a certain way,” he is likely referring to how Liverpool are generally run in a sustainable manner.
As part of this, you would expect ageing players to be moved on. However, there has been criticism that the exits of Robertson and Salah, for example, have been handled poorly given the importance of their leadership to the team.
In addition, Slot said of his No. 1 goalkeeper: “I’m only focused on short-term and getting him back in goal. All these rumours that are out there about him or about me or others.
“We don’t react to rumours in this room, not in my conversations with Richard (Hughes).
“We only react when facts need to be told and there’s nothing at the moment. He wants to be in goal for the club he loves to play for and then the country he loves to play for.
“We are looking at these kind of injuries he is having. Muscle injury, you always look to prevent with your training programme. He’s not the only one.
“But football has changed so much, muscle injuries more and more and more and we all know why, the crazy schedule which, to be fair, I like as I can always watch a game on television every night.
“But for the health of the players it’s getting more and more and more. Maybe age plays a part but this week we saw [Lamine] Yamal get an injury – it’s more to do with the schedule they are playing.”

In recent weeks, rumours linking Alisson to Juventus have ramped up, with transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano providing the latest update on his YouTube channel.
“This is a deal that is definitely moving forward, a real negotiation taking place between Alisson, Juventus and his agent,” he said.
“In short, the Alisson transfer is being pursued and there is a significant push on the player’s end. This is because Juventus are proposing a multi-year contract to Alisson.
“Alisson would like to join Juventus, but he is under contract with Liverpool and he doesn’t want to leave badly if possible,” Romano continued.
“He wants to leave Liverpool as a legend, a truly remarkable legacy, either this year or next year. He aims for the very best possible exit.”
While the Brazilian is still the best goalkeeper at Liverpool, his repeated injury problems could mean the head coach places his faith in the longer-term option, 25-year-old Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Interestingly, Romano wrote on X that talks are planned between Liverpool and both goalkeepers’ representatives to establish who will be playing next season.
