You cannot blame the man, really. Speaking ahead of Everton’s visit to London, former West Ham manager David Moyes couldn’t resist a few carefully selected words of wisdom for his former club who are now languishing at the foot of the Premier League and with the threat of relegation looming large.
Which is exactly as they were when Moyes first landed in November 2017.
Moyes has always conducted himself with dignity and has never allowed a hint of anger or resentment to show after his contract was not renewed at West Hm United – and even though he selected his words very carefully, the message was clear enough as he spoke to the press before Everton’s trip south.

The Hammers’ most successful manager in the modern era made his own thoughts crystal clear as he pointed the finger – with well chosen words- at the boardroom:

Few at the London Stadium. this afternoon will disagree with him. The disastrous appointment of first Lopetegui then Potter has landed the Hammers in huge peril: Whether Nuno can dig them out of the hole they find themselves in is still uncertain but compared with Moyes’ achievements since leaving London – West Ham have clearly gone backwards big time.
Moyes’ Everton lie tenth in the Premier League on 47 points and will be chasing hard for European qualification, which makes West Ham’s task all the harder this afternoon.
Have no doubt, their former manager is out to grab the three points and (if, as expected Tottenham beat Wolves) he’ll take a quiet satisfaction from putting his old team back in the relegation zone if he does so.
