"He will..."- Massive new claim emerges regarding Arne Slot leaving Liverpool this summer

As doubts continue to surround Arne Slot’s future as Liverpool’s head coach beyond this summer, an intriguing new update has now emerged.

Every game feels big for Slot, in terms of the Dutchman showing Reds supporters that he is the man for the job, with Saturday’s visit of Crystal Palace key in the battle for Champions League football.

The 47-year-old seems to be in positive spirits heading into the match, however, highlighting the importance of victory over Palace in his pre-match press conference on Friday:

“Having won our last two league games, our objective now is to build on the performances and results we had against Fulham and Everton so that we can finish the season on a high. This is not to say that even if we achieve this aim we will have had the season that we wanted or even close to it, but it would allow us to take something tangible and important from it, as well as some momentum to take into the next one.”

Now, a source on X has dropped a new claim over Slot’s future at Liverpool, suggesting that there could even be a “mutual agreement” to bring the relationship to an end this summer:

‘Our Liverpool source states that a mutual agreement for Arne Slot’s departure is still on the table. Arne Slot believes that without a new contract, he will lose authority.”

Is a natural parting of ways best for Arne Slot and Liverpool?

Recent reports have stated that Slot could now be trusted to stay on as Liverpool’s head coach into next season, despite such a galling 2025/26 campaign.

While the Reds’ Premier League results have been more solid of late, it does still feel like a change in the dugout would be best, especially if Xabi Alonso is keen on coming in, or Andoni Iraola for that matter.

It could be that Slot himself doesn’t truly feel that he is the right man to take Liverpool forward, so a natural parting of ways may be the best outcome.

If he does remain in charge of the Reds, a flying start to next season is a must for him, or the dissenting voices will only grow louder.
