“I feel like because the season from a personal level has been good, I kind of said I just want to concentrate on that,” said Wilson.
“And I feel like any other distractions, I don’t want my form to dip. I don’t want the focus to be on my contract. I want it to be on the team and getting results.”
He may not have admitted it during the interview, but Wilson is fully expected to leave Fulham at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old would likely demand a significant wage given he will be available on a free transfer.
However, this is a player who has taken the Premier League by storm this season, with 16 goal involvements in the Premier League alone.
Demand is high for the winger, which may mean Everton will require European football to have any chance of landing the Welshman.
