Tomas Soucek is set to join a select group of modern-day West Ham United heroes when David Moyes returns to the London Stadium as manager of Everton in today’s 3pm kick-off.
Should the long-serving midfielder retain his place in Nuno Espirito Santo’s XI – and it would be a major surprise if he does not – then Tomas Soucek will record a 200th Premier League start in a Hammers shirt.
In doing so, he will become only the fifth player since 1992 to achieve that feat at West Ham United.

LONDON, ENGLAND - APRIL 20: West Ham United's Tomas Soucek applauds the fans at the final whistle during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and West Ham United at Selhurst Park on April 20, 2026 in London, United Kingdom.
Mark Noble, a former teammate of Soucek’s and the club’s current sporting director, sits at the top of that list with 368 starts. Aaron Cresswell made 312, Michael Antonio 268, and Steve Potts 204.

In what is a massive testament to his consistency and availability, only eleven of Soucek’s 199 top-flight appearances have come from the bench.
Soucek has already secured a place in Premier League history this year. He replaced ex-Liverpool, Aston Villa and Portsmouth midfielder Patrik Berger as the highest scoring Czech footballer in the competition when finding the net against Manchester United in February’s 1-1 draw.

What a fitting way this would be to mark the occasion of his 200th start; scoring a 38th first division goal in a victory which keeps West Ham on the right side of the dotted line.

“I am very happy that [our fate] is in our hands,” Soucek told the official West Ham website as Everton come to town.
“That’s the most important thing and we want to keep it that way until the end. I can’t say how many points we need, but we have to go [and keep the momentum going]. Now, I think only about the Everton match.
“We know that we are now playing the final five matches, we know that it’s in our hands, and that’s something we want to do and it’s a big goal for us and for our fans.
“It’s a big game for us at home against Everton and we all want three points from that game.”
