Freddie Woodman has been handed his first Premier League start as a Liverpool player, with Alisson not recovering in time to feature in Saturday's game against Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot said in Friday's press conference that Alisson might be line to feature at Anfield, but added Woodman would be "ready" if called upon.
That is the case, with the 25-year-old goalkeeper coming in to make just a fifth Premier League start of his career, and third Liverpool appearance.
Woodman will come up against his boyhood club, where he used to be a ball boy in his youth.
In defense, Curtis Jones and Andy Robertson keep their places in the wide areas, while Ibrahima Konate continues to partner Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the back four.
It means Slot has opted against selecting Jeremie Frimpong or Milos Kerkez, who both have been named on the bench.
Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Florain Wirtz start in midfield, with Ryan Gravenberch dropping out of the team.
Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo have been named in a front three that includes Alexander Isak.
The ex-Newcastle man is hoping to score his first home Premier League goal for the club.
On the bench, Armin Pecsi is again among the substitutes, while Joe Gomez returns after missing last week's win over Everton. Will Wright has also been included in a Premier League matchday squad for the first time in his career.
The Reds host Palace looking to move eight points clear ahead of Brighton in sixth.
As for the visitors, Oliver Glasner's side is looking to beat Liverpool for a fourth time this season.
Adam Wharton returns for the Eagles, who faces Shakhtar Donetsk in the semi-final of the Conference League on Thursday.
Wharton is among Liverpool's main transfer targets heading into the summer, and Slot will no doubt be keeping a keen eye on the mifielder's impact.
