Arne Slot and Liverpool were left fuming as Crystal Palace pulled a goal back at Anfield while the Reds' goalkeeper Freddie Woodman was down injured.
Alexander Isak and Andy Robertson had put the hosts 2-0 up before half-time, and they looked to be easing their way to victory before Daniel Munoz scored for the visitors with just under 20 minutes to go. The goal though was shrouded in controversy.
Woodman stayed down after he appeared to get his studs caught in the turf as he saved from Ismaila Sarr. With no one in goal for Liverpool, Munoz turned the ball home from outside the penalty area, leading to protests from Slot and his players.

The Liverpool head coach remonstrated with Palace boss Oliver Glasner and the officials, arguing that play should have been halted with Woodman down injured.
Although Woodman appeared to be struggling with his knee, the goalkeeper continued the game after receiving treatment, with Liverpool already down its third-choice amid injuries to Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Analyzing the incident on the BBC's Final Score, former England midfielder Fara Williams said: "Freddie Woodman has been fanatstic and he pulled off a great save. His studs got caught in the ground and he went over. He has gone down.

"Crystal Palace have played on, Liverpool players have stopped. Crystal Palace have put the ball in the back of the net from the edge of the box.
"I guess sportsmanship would suggest that when you have seen the goalkeeper go down like that, you wouldn't take it on. I probably wouldn't have in that scenario."
Former Swansea and Everton defender Ashley Williams added: "There will be a lot of chatter around it but if the referee hasn't blown his whistle, Daniel Munoz is entitled to have his shot into an empty goal so I don't know where that one would stand."

Liverpool fans were clearly left disgruntled with Palace's decision to play on as they booed loudly after the goal was confirmed. Moments later, a ball was thrown by a supporter at the goalscorer Munoz as he waited to take a throw-in.

The incident brough back memories of a similar occurence in 2000, when West Ham striker Paolo Di Canio chose to catch the ball rather than score after Everton goalkeeper Paul Gerrard had gone down injured.
Di Canio was widely praised for his actions, and went on to win the FIFA Fair Play Award the following year.
