Freddie Woodman was the pick of Liverpool’s players as they beat Crystal Palace 3-1, but Alexis Mac Allister shone when it came to the statistics.
The Reds didn’t always have things their own way at Anfield, but they jumped to fourth in the Premier League table thanks to goals from Alexander Isak, Andy Robertson and Florian Wirtz.
Here we compare our player ratings with those of the Liverpool Echo, GOAL and the TIA readers.
Liverpool may have won, but Woodman (8.65) still got the highest marks following a memorable first start for the club in the Premier League.
The Englishman made crucial saves, not the least the one just before Robertson scored, with GOAL’s Tom Maston describing him as “superb.”
It was a good day for Wirtz (7.33), who played a key part in Robertson’s strike and then buried a magnificent finish in stoppage time.

In This Is Anfield‘s ratings, Henry Jackson said there was “plenty to admire both in and out of possession” from the German.
Curtis Jones (7.18) completed the top three, following another good display at right-back, assisting Robertson brilliantly.
But we’ve got a bone to pick with you, TIA readers – a 4.8 score for Salah feels horribly harsh!
What the stats say: Mac Allister shines for Reds
According to FotMob, Mac Allister was Liverpool’s most impressive player, shining on and off the ball.
Not only did the No. 10 bag two assists, but he also made 11 defensive contributions – the most for the home side.

Wirtz completed the scoring for Liverpool, also having the most touches in the penalty area for either team (eight).
Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo won 10 duels, which was at least three more than anyone else on the pitch, as he produced a hard-working performance.
