Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall pointed to something he found particularly ‘annoying’ about Everton’s defeat to West Ham United.
Everton have lost ground in the race for European football, losing 2-1 at London Stadium.
Tomas Soucek opened the scoring for West Ham, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised late on for the visitors.
Who is to blame for this defeat, then? 😡

But Everton then conceded in injury-time to Callum Wilson, who has so often been a thorn in the Toffees’ side.
Moyes lamented the way Everton conceded the first goal and undoubtedly it’s becoming an issue at the wrong time.
After the game, Dewsbury-Hall pointed to something else that was frustrating.

Of course, as Everton were looking to boost their European football hopes, West Ham were looking to pull clear of the relegation zone.

With Tottenham Hotspur taking on bottom club Wolves, there was so much riding on today’s game for the Hammers.
Dewsbury-Hall – who did praise Tyrique George – suggested after the game that Everton simply didn’t capitalise on the nerves that could be felt in the stadium, both before West Ham scored and after he had equalised.
He told BBC Sounds: “It’s annoying because we should be capitalising on that, with fans and the crowd a bit nervy like that. But I didn’t think we did that today, which is the most important thing. That’s definitely something we need to improve on.”
“The goals are just not good enough.
“We know that. We have to take accountability for that, because we’re men in there. It’s not about shifting blame, it’s about being honest with each other.”
Result vs West Ham is hugely disappointing
Dewsbury-Hall makes a good point here.
West Ham are in a world of trouble right now and understandably, the London Stadium was on edge.

This should have played into Everton’s hands, but what we got was a tepid performance overall.
It was a shame to see Everton fail to push on after Dewsbury-Hall’s equaliser. It was as if Moyes and the team were content to settle for a point, which is difficult to understand.
If Everton are to get Europe, the players will need to step things up several levels for these last four games.
