Everton were still dealing with PSR issues during the 2024 summer transfer window.
Sean Dyche was only able to make three permanent additions, and three sales had to be made to facilitate that.
The most notable exit that summer was Amadou Onana’s transfer to Aston Villa, with Everton receiving a healthy £50m.

Everton were forced to sell Lewis Dobbin in a £9m deal to Aston Villa a couple of summers ago.
Dobbin has been sent on multiple loan spells since then and now finds himself in the Championship with Preston North End.
The 23-year-old has really started to show his true potential at Deepdale, as he’s registered a very impressive 18 goal contributions this term.

Dobbin has netted 10 goals whilst laying on eight assists for North End, and his manager Paul Heckingbottom has admitted there is interest in his signature.
“Yeah, there is,” the Preston boss said when asked if he expects significant summer interest.
“You want all 11 players to be like that. That’s the aim. That’s everything.“
Dobbin is due to return to his parent club Aston Villa and it would seem they have the chance to cash in for in excess of £10m to another Championship club, perhaps higher up than Preston.
