The Scotland skipper has called time on his Anfield career and faces a decision over his next move

Atletico Madrid are back in the hunt for Scotland World Cup captain Andy Robertson.

The Spanish giants were keen to land the Liverpool full-back last summer.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone has since revived his interest in the 32-year-old.

Robertson has since confirmed that he will be leaving Anfield this summer after nine years.

That has alerted Simone who is keen to land the Champions League winner on a free transfer.

Robertson is moving on after he lost his top team slot under Arne Slot.

The Scot is departing along with Mohamed Salah at the end of this campaign.

Atletico have the financial muscle to land Robertson but it would also need to be a move that suits him and his young family.

Tottenham Hotspur are already at the table. They tried to land him in January but Robertson decided against the move at that point.

That move could also sway on whether Spurs can keep themselves in the English Premier League.

They gave themselves a morale-boosting win against Wolves yesterday, but they are still in the relegation positions and are two points from safety.

Celtic have also been continually linked with Robertson. The player has always said he would love to play for his boyhood heroes.

That, however, is looking less likely this summer with the top five league interest that in the Liverpool and Scotland star.

Robertson will head to the World Cup with Scotland this summer. In an ideal world, he would prefer his future to be sorted before the finals so he can concentrate on the games against Haiti, Brazil and Morocco.

Scotland are back at the World Cup for the first time since 1998. Steve Clarke and his side are looking to make history by becoming the first Scottish team to make it beyond the group stages.
