How many points Everton are now predicted to finish on by supercomputer after West Ham loss

Everton’s European dreams took a hit on Saturday afternoon.

The Toffees suffered a late defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium, leaving them in the bottom half of the table.

David Moyes’ side are sitting in 11th place, although they’re only two points behind a Conference League spot and three from the Europa.

With that said, we’ve decided to take a look at how the Opta supercomputer has predicted the final four games of the season and where it has Everton finishing.

Everton predicted to finish four points off Europe

The supercomputer expects Everton to pick up five points from their last four games, which isn’t a great return in truth.

That would have the Toffees finish on 52 points in 11th place, two points adrift from a European position.

# Team Points

6 Brighton 56.41

7 Bournemouth 54.49

8 Brentford 54.17

9 Chelsea 53.80

10 Fulham 53.04

11 Everton 52.35

Opta’s predicted PL table

The software has given them a 3.58% chance of finishing in the top six, so clearly the underlying data isn’t particularly encouraging.

Finishing in the bottom half of the table would be disappointing, especially considering how long the club has spent on the fringes of Europe this season.

Looking at the final four games, Moyes’ men should be targeting maximum points against Sunderland and Crystal Palace.

The away game at Tottenham Hotspur on the final day brings a unique challenge, as the hosts may need a win to secure their top-flight status.

The Merseysiders would likely have to win three out of the last four games to give themselves a decent chance.
