Liverpool are firmly on track to secure a spot in next season's Champions League following their 3-1 triumph over Crystal Palace. Arne Slot's men now occupy fourth position with just four matches left to play.
The Reds had appeared to face a steep climb to reach UEFA's elite competition, but three straight victories have left them virtually assured of a top-five finish.
Against Palace, a side that had already defeated Liverpool twice this season, Alexander Isak broke the deadlock before Andy Robertson doubled the lead ahead of his summer exit. Daniel Munoz reduced the deficit in contentious fashion before Florian Wirtz wrapped up the points in added time.

The result has lifted some of the weight off manager Slot's shoulders, though owners Fenway Sports Group have taken decisive action with another of their franchises. The ECHO rounds up the latest developments from Anfield.
FSG dismiss staff
FSG have opted to make a change at the Boston Red Sox, the baseball franchise they own, and have dismissed team manager Alex Cora from his role. Alongside Cora, five members of his coaching staff have also departed. The decision follows a disappointing start to the campaign, in which the side have managed just 10 victories while suffering 17 defeats.
In a statement, FSG chief and Liverpool FC principal owner John Henry said: "Alex Cora led this organisation to one of the greatest seasons in Red Sox history in 2018, and for that, and the many years that followed, he will always have our deepest gratitude.

Mohamed Salah injury update
Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah was forced off in the second half against Palace after going down and gripping his left leg. He applauded the Anfield faithful as he departed.

With the Egyptian poised to leave the club at the end of the campaign, there are now fears that he may have made his final appearance for Liverpool.
Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan appears to have confirmed as much. He told Reuters: "He has suffered a hamstring tear and will require four weeks of treatment."
Manager Slot conceded to Match of the Day following the Palace victory: "It's too early to say but we all know Mo and how hard it is for him to leave the pitch. For Mo to leave the pitch, it shows you something but we have to wait and see how bad it is."
