Liverpool is now level on 58 points with both Manchester United and Aston Villa, with the Premier League sides approaching the final stretch of the season.
Each of the trio looks set to qualify for the Champions League and Michael Carrick's men take on Brentford next — a team looking to keep pace in the race for Europe. Manchester United hosts Liverpool next weekend at Old Trafford in a heavyweight clash that could determine the final standings.
The Red Devils end the season with games against Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Brighton, with third spot — after Arsenal and Manchester City — up for grabs.

Manchester United will be without the suspended Lisandro Martinez and injured Patrick Dorgu and Matthijs de Ligt. Leny Yoro could return, while Bryan Mbeumo is being managed.
Brentford has seven players sidelined at the moment, including the former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and forward Fabio Carvalho.

Antoni Milambo, Joshua Dasilva (both knee), Vitaly Janelt (ankle), Rico Henry (thigh) and Kaye Furo (groin) are all set to be absent too, with Keith Andrews' men looking to continue their pursuit of the European spots.
"I've said it many times, I enjoy being here, you know? I enjoy the role I'm in," Carrick said in his pre-match press conference when he was asked about getting the head coach role on a permanent basis.
"We've had some good results and we're in decent shape. I think there's a lot to go, we still want to keep improving, you know, there's layers that we want to get to, really.
"I'll see, you know, I'll see. I keep saying the same things in front of you every week, there's only so much I can say in terms of that, but I've said it many times again.

"At the moment, we're doing alright. We're doing alright. We can keep pushing and getting better. So really, that's genuinely all I'm focused on right now."
