Federico Gatti
Nottingham Forest and Everton are in the picture to sign Juventus’ Federico Gatti in the summer.
On February 20th, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of Nottingham Forest, West Ham United and Lyon being in a three-way battle for the 27-year-old.
Vítor Pereira’s side continue to chase the defender, along with Everton.
Last July, he signed a new contract with the Serie A side until 2030 and prior to that, a few Premier League sides had looked at him for last summer.
The centre-back’s decision to extend hasn’t gone as he hasn’t enjoyed regular minutes so far this season. To put it in context, he’s played 1,553 minutes from 25 matches.
His Serie A side stats this season are as follows:
Appearances: 18
Starts: 11
Total minutes: 991
Interceptions per game: 0.7
Tackles per game: 0.6
Ball recovered per game: 2.3
Clearances per game: 2.9
Blocked shots per game: 0.3
Duels won per game: 2.2
Nottingham Forest and Everton keen
Tuttosport now have a report on AC Milan’s interest in Juventus’ Federico Gatti for the summer.
The Rossoneri already showed interest last summer but refused to meet Juventus’ €25m price. Massimiliano Allegri already trained him at the Turin club and therefore, Milan would gladly take him after this season.
There are other clubs, ‘particularly’ Nottingham Forest and Everton, chasing him. In fact, the two English club are ‘very interested’ in the centre-back and made attempts last summer.
Tuttosport’s title states the ‘Premier League isn’t giving up’ and within the report.
Galatasaray are also in the mix and ready to make an approach to secure his services. They recently made contact and their representative is expected to travel to Italy to hold direct talks with Juventus.
With several admirers, the Old Lady are ready to sacrifice the defender if a significant bid were to arrive. There’s no mention of Juve’s demand or the fee needed to convince them.
Contract, value and agent info
Federico Gatti will have four years left on his contract after this season and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €16m.
