Virgil van Dijk believes Mohamed Salah will be given a special Anfield send-off regardless of whether he has played his final Liverpool game.
The winger was replaced with what appeared to be a hamstring injury in Saturday’s win over Crystal Palace, as he approaches the end of his Liverpool career. Salah confirmed last month that he is set to depart the club this summer, meaning the final four games of the season will be his last in red.
However, if Saturday’s injury proves to be serious, it could rule him out of those matches and therefore make for an early end to his stellar Liverpool career.

The 33-year-old, who is the club’s third-highest all-time scorer, certainly looked forlorn as he made his way off the pitch in the 3-1 win, applauding all four sides of the ground before exiting.
Egypt’s national team director Ibrahim Hassan claimed on Sunday that Salah is set to miss the next four weeks, and Van Dijk said his long-time team-mate will receive a fitting farewell on the final day of the season whatever his injury status.
“He will get the send-off regardless,” the Liverpool captain told reporters after the Palace game.

“I don’t think that is the thing at this point. We shouldn’t think too far ahead. Knowing Mo, he is a quick healer with the right people around us and let’s see.
“There will be a medical assessment and then that will determine what the issue is going to be,” added Van Dijk.
“I know he is doing everything in his power to be back on the pitch as soon as possible. If you get injured at this stage of the season, especially in the situation he is in - there are only two more home games left for him [at Anfield] - it’s a combination of feelings that go through your mind when you go off.
“The reality is he has to get scanned, assessed, hopefully he won’t be long, but at this point I don’t know. Maybe he’s back next week, maybe not. I have no idea.”

Liverpool faces a trip to Manchester United on Sunday, before matches against Chelsea and Aston Villa. The Reds then host Brentford on the final day of the season.
Salah has endured a difficult final campaign at Anfield, which included his infamous Elland Road mixed-zone rant in December.
But his performances have improved markedly since confirming his imminent Liverpool exit and he was the Reds’ best performer in the first hour of Saturday’s game, which was his 440th appearance for the club.
