Liverpool keen on Real Betis star

Monday’s edition of Diario de Sevilla, a newspaper local to the Spanish club, covers the Reds’ interest.

The report mainly focuses on how Abde Ezzalzouli’s overall performances have improved this season.

Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini explains the attacker’s openness to take advice, and criticism helped him further improve his game.

“He has a lot of potential. He’s matured a great deal. He listens to what people tell him, he doesn’t shut himself off, he’s always open to criticism and advice. That’s why his goal tally has increased,” he said.

“Before, he created a lot of chances, but few of his actions ended in a goal. He’s earned it day after day.”

The Andalusian club initially brought 50% of his rights and raised it to 80% with Barcelona retaining the remaining 20%. Diario de Sevilla claim this is an important detail if Real Betis were to receive significant proposals for the Moroccan after this season.

Pellegrini’s side have to balance their books and Ezzalzouli, Natan and midfielder Sergi Altimira, are the candidates to help them raise funds.

Liverpool’s interest in Ezzalzouli gets a mention as Arne Slot’s side want to sign ‘an explosive attacking player’.

Real Betis may be aware of the Reds’ interest and the possibility of the attacker changing clubs in the next window.

Therefore, Los Verdiblancos are looking at several options to replace the player who has been a ‘game-changer for Betis’.

Contract, value and agent info

There’s no mention of Real Betis’ demand or the fee needed to sign him. Two months ago, claims from the UK talked about a €40m price. At that time, Sport Witness suggested that this figure may be enough to convince the Spanish club.

Abde Ezzalzouli has a contract until 2029, and Transfermarkt value him at €30m. Spainsh agency IF Football are representing the Liverpool target.

There are many indications a transfer is on the cards in the summer, and whether he’ll end up at Liverpool remains to be seen.
