Over the past couple of months, Juventus’ Francisco Conceicao has been linked with a move to Liverpool. The winger’s brother has now opened up about his future.

The Portugal international has impressed in spells this season. He did well against AC Milan on Sunday, even if Juve couldn’t find the back of the net.

So far in this campaign, he’s contributed to eight goals in all competitions, last scoring back in February.

Despite that, talk around Liverpool has been consistent. In March,Sport Witness covered information that the Reds made first contact, seeing him as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Now, the attacker’s brother has spoken about the 23-year-old’s future.

Player wants to take next step

Francisco Conceicao’s brother – Sergio Conceicao Jr, play for AEL Limassol in Cyprus. He spoke toTuttoSport about his own career, his younger sibling and how things are going at the Old Lady for him.

He made it clear that the younger Conceicao is winning over Juve manager Luciano Spalletti and wants to take the next step.

“They have an excellent relationship, Spalletti has shown enormous faith in Chico. He also feels a sense of responsibility.”

Clarifying that the winger wants to take the next step, he said: “He’s well, he’s happy, and now he wants to take the final, definitive step in his development.”

Quickly denying the talk of an exit, he said: “I think they can compete for the title next year. Juve must always fight for the highest level, and with Spalletti they’re starting from an excellent foundation.”

Further, Conceicao was also asked indirectly if his brother can potentially leave Juve for a club like Liverpool.

He responded, firmly:*“Of course, he has a contract, right?*”

Our take: Deal would be a massive gamble

Francisco Conceicao has shown his ability in Turin, always keen on taking on defenders, beating them and he has a good work-ethic too.

A lot of times though, his final ball is lacking. This was also evident against Milan on Sunday. He created a couple of opportunities but fell short when he could’ve contributed to a goal.

That inconsistency has been a problem for him across the campaign.

Liverpool should ideally look to someone much more consistent. Conceicao might not fire straightaway in Merseyside and would probably take a while to settle in.
