Brighton and Hove Albion pushing for European qualification
Brighton defender Adam Webster insists the team have peaked at the right time as they battle for European football next term.
The Seagulls are sixth in the Premier League with just four matches of the campaign to go.
Fabian Hurzeler's men have won five of their last seven and resume their late push at Newcastle this Saturday. They then face Wolves (h), Leeds (a) and finish with a home clash against Champions League chasing Manchester United.
Poor recent results for Sunderland and Everton have further boosted Albion's chances.
"We're in a good position at the minute," said Webster to Glenn Murray on the BHA Podcast at the Premier League Mornings special in Florida
"It's a really exciting time for us, this last period of the season.
"This is where it matters. No one really remembers the first part.
"We've got a great opportunity, we're obviously in great form and we're going to need everyone in the squad now.
"This is where everyone can step up and play their part.
"What matters is from now, I think we can really achieve something this year.
Six ‘massive’ weeks for Brighton
Brighton's late run has been a welcome boost after a poor period throughout January and February. The low point was Albion's home defeat to old rivals Crystal Palace where fans turned on manager Fabian Hurzeler.
Since then Brighton have responded and could be on track to match their highest ever Premier League finish of sixth.
"This last six weeks have been massive for us," Webster added.
"We were in a bit of a bad, bad run of form, which was tough for us. We've come through that now. When you've got confidence, you seem to get that bit of luck.
"We've played really well the last five or six weeks.
"When you look back at where we were, and there was a bit of unhappiness around the club, what this group of players has gone on to produce, regardless of the noise around the place, I think it's like a testament to their character.
Hurzeler’s amazing job
Webster also praised the contribution of head coach Hurzeler and feels Europe would be recognition of a job well done.
"If we could get some sort of European place. I think Fabian especially, he'd have done an amazing job. Incredible job.
"Even if you look at last year, he finished eighth. He just missed out [on Europe].
"But obviously, his first year at the club, the amount of injuries that we did have last year, to finish eighth was a great achievement, I think.
"If we can go better than that this year, again, it would be an incredible achievement. From where we were two months ago, if we could get into Europe, that would be unbelievable."
