Opinion: Three questions David Moyes must answer as Everton fan frustration grows

Everton supporters have directed a lot of frustration towards David Moyes in recent weeks.

Following back-to-back Premier League defeats, Everton have now fallen behind in the race for European football.

Toffees fans believe Moyes is being too stubborn with some of his team selections, and it’s been costing them lately.

Four games to go, have Everton blown their hopes of European? 🫣

So, with that said, here are three questions the Scotsman should answer ahead of the final four games of the season.

Why aren’t Tyler Dibling and Adam Aznou getting a chance?

Everton spent around £50m on the signings of Tyler Dibling and Adam Aznou last summer, and they arrived with very promising reputations.

However, Dibling has started just four Premier League games and Aznou hasn’t even made his league debut yet.

Why has it taken this long for Everton to complain? 🤷‍♂️

The club have FINALLY had enough… 😡

It’s a very bizarre situation, especially when you consider how poor Vitalii Mykolenko has been at times this season.

Many were expecting Dibling to play a more prominent role when Jack Grealish suffered a season-ending injury, but the England under-21 international has played one minute of football since January.

Moyes should give a clear reason as to why that is, as supporters are puzzled.

Will you try Tyrique George up front amid Thierno Barry’s poor form?

Thierno Barry started up front for Everton against West Ham, and it was another really poor display from the Frenchman.

Why isn’t Moyes using Tyrique George up front? After all, Lee Carsley believes he has all the traits necessary to be a centre-forward.

Where does Thierno Barry go from here? This Everton fan has had ENOUGH! 😡

“He’s got the profile and attributes to develop into a traditional number 9,” Carsley stated last year.

“A lot of that development I would imagine will go on at Chelsea. He’s fast. He scores goals. He’s creative. He’s got good technique.”

The Scotsman isn’t particularly adventurous with his team selections, but that’s surely needed when the likes of Barry aren’t delivering.

Will Braiden Graham receive his debut soon?

Braiden Graham is widely regarded as Everton’s best academy player, having netted a very impressive 21 goals this season.

Naturally, you would expect the highly-rated teenager to at least get a few cameo appearances here and there, but that’s not been the case.

Does this Everton fan have a point about Moyes? 😮

Graham is still awaiting his debut, and these sorts of decisions could really backfire on the Toffees in the long term.

Moyes isn’t giving a pathway to the younger players, so the likes of Graham may decide to leave for more regular football elsewhere.

Ultimately, with all that being said, it’s clear that Moyes is doing a good job and has completely transformed the fortunes of the club since returning last January.

It’d just be nice if he gave a little bit more clarity to some of these fan questions in his press conferences.
