Everton have suffered back-to-back Premier League defeats.
It leaves Everton’s hopes of European football in major doubt, as they’ve now dropped into the bottom half of the table.
The Toffees are still just two points behind the Conference League spot, however, they’ll probably need to win three of their last four games to achieve that feat.

With that said, here’s why it wouldn’t be so bad after all if David Moyes’ side did miss out on a European spot.

Everton aren’t ready for Europe just yet
It’s quite apparent that Everton’s squad just isn’t ready for Europe just yet, and so qualifying for it would seriously jeopardise their league form next season.
Just look at Nottingham Forest. They evidently made the jump too quickly and now find themselves in a relegation battle.
Why has it taken this long for Everton to complain? 🤷♂️

Moyes has always explained that he wants to build his team up slowly, just like he did during his first tenure at the club.
It needs to be a slow process so that every single position can be adequately addressed in the transfer market.
At the moment, the Toffees have far too many areas that need strengthening, and that’s even before the back-ups are signed.
A first-choice striker is certainly needed to replace Beto and Thierno Barry, two full-backs and a centre-back.
Two wingers will also be required with Tyrique George and Jack Grealish due to return to their parent clubs at the end of the season.
So, you can quickly see just how much attention this Everton squad needs, and it won’t all be sorted in one window.
It’s going to take at least two summers before it can manage four competitions.
