'Discussed internally': Fabrizio Romano shares Alisson Becker's new 'intention' as Juventus prepare offer

Alisson Becker continues to be linked with Juventus, and the Italian giants are reportedly ready to make an offer for the Liverpool goalkeeper.

As for the Reds, their exact intention is still unclear. They extended Alisson’s contract by a year, which now keeps him tied to Anfield until 2027, but that does not automatically mean they will refuse to sell.

It seems the ball is firmly in Liverpool’s court anyway, judging by Fabrizio Romano’s latest update.

Liverpool must now decide what they really want with Alisson Becker

Romano has confirmed that Alisson would be tempted by Juventus, but made it clear the Brazilian has no desire to leave Liverpool in the wrong way.

He said on his YouTube channel: “Alisson would be tempted by this possibility. But Alisson does not want to leave Liverpool in a bad way at all. Alisson wants to respect Liverpool. Alisson loves Liverpool, and Alisson will not leave on bad terms. That is the intention of the Brazilian goalkeeper.

“So now it is on Liverpool to decide from now until the end of the season, to communicate something with Alisson, to discuss with Alisson and decide what they want to do. If they want to keep him, if they want to sell him, if they open the door, under what conditions, and what Juventus can eventually pay to Liverpool.

“So there are several points to clarify in order to understand the future of Alisson, but at the moment it depends on Liverpool.

“Liverpool extended his contract because they believe in Alisson, and they are already going to lose two important leaders, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson. So losing Alisson in the same summer would be tough, and that is going to be a point discussed internally in order to make a decision.”

Alisson is not forcing his way out. Liverpool can keep him as number one for another season or cash in while his value remains strong.

Giorgi Mamardashvili will be watching closely…

Freddie Woodman has at least shown he can be trusted as a squad option. But the bigger question is Giorgi Mamardashvili. Liverpool clearly signed him with the future in mind, but has he done enough to warrant the No.1 shirt?

If Liverpool believe he is ready, then selling Alisson may make sense. But the leadership point Romano makes is the most pertinent. Salah and Robertson are leaving already, and there’s a risk of losing too much leadership and experience in the dressing room by letting the Brazilian go as well.
