Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall made his Monday Night Football debut last night – and one of his highlights left Jamie Carragher in awe.

The Everton midfielder was on hand to provide analysis and insight for the Manchester United vs Brentford game.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is one of the best signings Everton have made in years, isn’t he?!

Dewsbury-Hall displayed refreshing confidence in a punditry role, which doesn’t come as any real surprise given how he carries himself both on and off the pitch.

After the United-Brentford game, the focus fell on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and the season he’s had so far at Everton.

They looked back at his goal catalogue from this season – and one goal left pundit Jamie Carragher in awe.

It has been a fantastic season for Dewsbury-Hall, who was on the scoresheet again at the weekend for Everton.

Everton lost 2-1 to West Ham United at London Stadium, but Dewsbury-Hall scored his eighth goal of the season for the Toffees.

There have been some very impressive strikes along the way for the Englishman.

But there was one in particular that Carragher really enjoyed.

And that was the one he against Newcastle back in November. He collected a lofted ball through by James Tarkowski, controlling it beautifully before finishing past Aaron Ramsdale.

As the clip played, Carragher said: “This is unbelievable! Wow.”

Dewsbury-Hall said of it: “I’ll be honest, I think that could probably be the best goal in my career.

“But because of the situation of the game, it probably gets forgotten about a little bit. But in terms of technique, that’s probably the best goal I’ve scored.”

That goal against Newcastle really showcased Dewsbury-Hall’s technical quality, and is undoubtedly one of his best strikes given how much he had to do to score.

It was Dennis Bergkamp-esque in the way he plucked it out of the sky, and he made no mistake with the finish.

To have a player who can turn low-quality chances into goals like that is such a bonus for Everton, whose deal to sign Dewsbury-Hall for £28 million last summer is looking like one of the best Toffees transfer deals in years.

There was also some talk about the injury that he picked up earlier this season, and the time he spent out of the time was certainly a real blow for him and the team.

Had he been available, Everton could perhaps be slightly higher in the table, and Dewsbury-Hall himself would almost certainly have more than the 14 goal contributions he does have now.
