Liverpool have fresh reason to believe Alisson Becker’s long-term future will not be decided any time soon, with interest from Juventus stalling and Brazilian reports pointing to a return home further down the line.
The Reds’ No.1 remains under contract until June 2027. However, his name has surfaced again in the transfer market. As we recently covered, Italian newspapers claimed Juventus’ interest run into a problem – the goalkeeper’s salary.
The Turin club view Alisson’s wages as too high. Unless there is a significant reduction, they are ready to move on to other targets. That effectively cools any immediate chances of a deal.
Juventus were even linked with a €15m (£13m) offer. Yet the financial package around the player appears to be the real obstacle. From Liverpool’s perspective, that removes short-term pressure.
Long-term plan emerging in Brazil
Alisson’s situation takes a different turn when looking further ahead. Brazilian journalist Lucas Dias reports that his former club, Internacional, are already monitoring developments with a view to the future.
As relayed by Bolavip, the Brazilian side are working on a potential return for the goalkeeper after 2027, when his Liverpool contract expires. Internally, there is belief that a structured project could bring him back at a high level.
This is not just wishful thinking. Alisson has previously spoken about his desire to return to Brazil and finish his career at the club that developed him.
Internacional would also benefit financially from any interim move through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism. However, their real focus appears to be a long-term reunion.
What happens next
For Liverpool, the picture is relatively clear. Juventus interest does not currently threaten their position, largely due to financial barriers.
The bigger question sits further ahead. If Alisson runs down his contract, the club will eventually face a decision on succession planning.
At the same time, Internacional’s growing interest adds another layer to the story. The idea of a return is gaining structure rather than remaining purely emotional.
In short, Liverpool are in control today. But the narrative around Alisson Becker is slowly shifting towards what comes after Anfield, not just what happens this summer.
