Milan, Italy – AC Milan announced that their star Luka Modric underwent facial surgery, following the injury he suffered during the match against Juventus in the Italian league.
The club explained in an official statement that Modric underwent facial bone surgery, wishing him a speedy recovery and a quick return to the field.
The Croatian player was injured following an aerial collision with Manuel Locatelli during the match, which ended in a goalless draw between the two teams.
Milan have four games left this season, facing Sassuolo, Atalanta, Genoa and Cagliari, before the season concludes on May 24.
Modric is then expected to join his national team, Croatia, in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.
The 40-year-old has featured in 32 out of 34 Serie A matches for Milan this season, missing only one game.
The Croatian national team will compete in the World Cup in a group that includes England, Panama and Ghana.
