Everton stat stunned by Nottingham Forest under Vitor Pereira

Nottingham Forest have improved considerably under Vitor Pereira and are now unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions.

From the last five Premier League matches, Forest have taken 11 points, and that represents a pretty steady turnaround given where the Reds were under Sean Dyche.

Pereira has made no excuses, given how many games Forest have had to play, given their participation in the Europa League, with a two-legged semi-final with Aston Villa on the horizon.

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall admits surprise at Nottingham Forest

Something has clicked for Forest under Pereira, and it’s great to see the team playing on the front foot and pressing teams in matches.

Sunderland were victims of that style of play on Friday night, and a five-goal haul saw Forest top the list for the number of goals scored in the Premier League since Pereira came to the club.

Dewsbury-Hall is chasing European football with Everton this season and he’s admitted that he’s been seriously impressed with the Reds.

He said on Monday Night Football: “The fact that they’re top of that stat is so impressive for a team that’s fighting relegation because they’ve obviously got a lot of pressure on their shoulders at the moment.

“The fact that they’re managing to score goals means that they’re going to be in every game and like Carra (Jamie Carragher) said, they didn’t only win the other night, they won convincingly and they were very clinical, which is even more confidence for the attackers.

Forest do still have some work to do in order to avoid relegation, with Tottenham and West Ham unlikely to throw in the towel anytime soon.

Pereira has instilled a different sort of confidence into his players, however, and it would appear that the squad are buying into his methods correctly.

It’s been quite the turnaround for Forest and Pereira is showing the club’s board that he’s desperately keen to continue in the position of head coach next season.
