West Ham United could finally be about to land a player at the second time of asking if reports in Italy are to be believed.

Claret & Hugh covered the story at the time and spoke to an agent involved in the preliminary talks, who told us:
“West Ham only got Edson Álvarez as a backup. The deal for Fofana was close, but Moyes wanted to push through the Ward-Prowse deal.”

Missed Move Could Return

However, new reports suggest that should West Ham survive their Premier League relegation struggle, they would again be interested in the midfielder.
Milan Sale Opens Door
AC Milan are said to be willing to sell before they buy, which could open the door for West Ham to revive their long-standing interest.
It remains to be seen whether the Hammers make their move, but this may be one transfer story not finished just yet
