David Moyes will move back among the favourites to win Premier League Manager of the Year if his Everton side beat Man City on Monday night.
The Toffees are in a poor run of form at the moment, with no wins from their last three Premier League games.
As such, their quest for European football for next season has hit a wall, and it’s one they must navigate around quickly if they are to stand any chance in that pursuit.
Everton now sit 11th in the league table, and to not even record a top-half finish at this stage of the campaign after being in there for so long this season would be a major disappointment.
Man City come to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night, with Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens hoping to keep chasing down Arsenal in this dramatic title race.

What is David Moyes’ record vs Man City?
Moyes could win Premier League Manager of the Year this season, as he’s no doubt done an excellent job with this Everton team.
Despite not being backed in the January transfer window with only Tyrique George coming in, the 63-year-old has kept his side in the hunt for European football, and are still only three points behind Brighton in sixth.

Only Arsenal (16), Man City (14) and Crystal Palace (12) have kept more clean sheets than Everton’s 11 this season, with his team shipping just 41 goals in the top flight.
He’s been able to help turn James Garner and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall into highly-coveted players, with both midfielders having career campaigns under him.
But, with their recent downturn in form, Moyes may no longer be in the running to be honoured by the Premier League this season.
That would change though if he can mastermind a win over Man City on Monday night, especially when you consider his managerial record against them.

Indeed, as detailed via Transfermarkt, Moyes has lost six-straight games against City in the Premier League, and has only won one of his last 18 games against them in all competitions.
That came in a 5-3 League Cup win in the 2021-22 season when he was West Ham manager, whilst possessing an overall career record of 44 games, 15 wins, seven draws and 22 defeats.

It’s not just Moyes who has had a woeful time of things against Man City in recent years, so have Everton.
The Toffees have not beaten the Cityzens in any of their last 18 meetings in all competitions, with their last victory coming all the way back on 15 January 2017, with a 4-0 triumph at Goodison Park in the Premier League.
And so becomes clear the size of the mountain Everton and Moyes must climb if they are to take three points on Monday night.
But if they do, the history books provide clear evidence as to why that should be seen as a feat for which Moyes must shoot back into Premier League Manager of the Year contention.
