Everton are reportedly keen on signing the PSV Eindhoven youngster.
Everton have sent an offer to sign Esmir Bajraktarevic from PSV Eindhoven, it has been claimed.
The winger has made encouraging progress for the Eredivisie champions this season. Bajraktarevic has recorded seven goals and five assists in 36 appearances, with four of his outings in the Champions League.
The 21-year-old, who will represent Bosnia and Herzegovin at this summer’s World Cup, was the standout performer in PSV’s 6-1 thrashing on PEC Zwolle. He was at the double and got a hat-trick of assists. According to Bosnian outlet Sport Sport, Everton had scouts in attendance for the game - and that was the performance that convinced them they want to sign Bajraktarevic.
It is suggested that Everton have made a ‘concrete’ bid for the former New England Revolution attacker. PSV have reportedly yet to respond to the offer. Bajraktarevic - who can play on both flanks - has been linked with Premier League rivals AFC Bournemouth and Bundesliga heavyweights Red Bull Leipzig.
Everton are likely to be in the market for a new winger in the summer transfer window. As things stand, Jack Grealish and Tyrique George are set to return to respective loan clubs Manchester City and Chelsea.
While the Toffees will not trigger the clause to purchase Grealish on a permanent deal for £50 million, a lower fee could be negotiated. The 30-year-old made a big impact for David Moyes’ side, registering two goals and six assist in 20 games before suffering a fractured foot.
In addition, there may be a chance that Dwight McNeil departs Everton at the end of the season. The former Burnley man was on the verge of joining Crystal Palace on winter transfer deadline day. However, Palace pulled out of the deal at the 11th hour.
McNeil is out of contract at Hill Dickinson Stadium in 2027, so the Toffees may look to cash in rather than risk losing him on a free next year.
