Tyrique George shares stance on Everton loan as Chelsea transfer decision looms

Everton winger Tyrique George has admitted he’s loving life on Merseyside.

Questions loom over George’s future, with Everton needing to make a decision over his future ahead of the summer.

The Chelsea winger joined the Blues on loan in January, which leaves Everton the option to sign him permanently.

Although his minutes have been limited, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been impressed by George and the impact he has brought to the side.

Everton supporters have not seen a great deal of the 20-year-old winger, but he’s still enjoyed life on Merseyside.

“I’m loving it as an Everton player. The boys are great and everyone is so nice here. I want to help us get as many wins as possible,” he told the Everton website.

“That’s my only aim – to help us get as many wins as we can. We want to get European football and it’s still a possibility for us.”

James Tarkowski has also been impressed with George, but that has not translated into more opportunities in the starting XI from Moyes.

“It was my job as a sub to come on and try to impact the game. I want to create, score goals and make things happen. I’ll keep working to try to make it happen,” George said after the West Ham loss.

With four games remaining, the 63-year-old manager does not have a great deal of football remaining to make a decision on George’s future.

Everton have made a huge mistake with Tyrique George

As the Blues look to take their game up a level with European qualification on the radar, there is a need for fewer risks to be taken in the transfer market.

George has played just 155 minutes of football since he joined from Chelsea on loan.

Everton believe they have a reasonable buy option with George, which is said to be in the region of £20m.

However, have the Blues really seen enough from him to give the green light to the signing this summer?

George has not been given the opportunity to showcase his talent on Merseyside.

Despite Jack Grealish picking up his season-ending injury, Moyes has decided he wants to see more from Dwight McNeil, who he tried to sell in January.

By no means has George done himself any harm when on the pitch, but it has to be questioned whether Everton would be making a smart financial decision in signing a player Moyes has barely used.
