Report: Liam Delap update as Chelsea present summer offer amid Everton interest

Everton have seen another twist in the Liam Delap saga ahead of the summer.

The transfer window does not open for over a month, but Everton are already seeing a lot begin to unfold behind the scenes.

Delap is a striker who has been on Everton’s radar for some time now and he could be set for another move this summer.

Rank these striker options from best to worst… 😬

There's going to be some different opinions on this! 🫣

Although it has been claimed Delap wants to fight for his Chelsea future, the Londoners may have other plans for him.

Chelsea offer Liam Delap to Strasbourg amid Everton interest

Everton still hold interest in Delap despite the striker rejecting the Toffees last summer to join Chelsea.

Clearly, it has not worked out for him at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea are looking at options to get the striker out for next season.

Who would you rather see Everton sign this summer? 🤩

Journalist Si Phillips has now claimed that Chelsea have offered Delap to their sister club, Strasbourg, on loan.

It is believed that Delap’s preference is to reject the prospect of moving the Ligue 1 side, though.

Delap’s agent has been monitoring potential moves ahead of the summer given how his transfer to Chelsea has played out.

The 23-year-old has only been able to score one goal for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, following a return of 12 for Ipswich Town in 2024/25.

Making a move this summer for Delap would pose a major risk for Everton.

Everton cannot take more striker gambles this summer

Rewind 12 months and there would have been many fans who would have jumped at the chance to sign the Englishman.

However, like many players, his move to Chelsea has done him no favours at all.

Everton know exactly how they can revive a player’s career following a turbulent spell at Chelsea, as they have benefited massively from the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

But the striker position is a spot in the side where Everton have taken a lot of risks over recent years, with very few actually paying off.

Everton should be looking to add a proven striker this summer.
