Virgil van Dijk has admitted that Liverpool would suffer a "big blow" if Alisson followed Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson out of the door in the summer transfer window. Alisson has been linked with a move to Juventus at the end of the season and Van Dijk does not want to lose another influential senior player.
Liverpool are braced for a transformative summer window, with long-serving stars Salah and Robertson having confirmed that they will move on. Their departures will leave Van Dijk and Alisson as the last two remaining veterans of Anfield in the squad.
However, there is speculation over the future of the 33-year-old goalkeeper, who has struggled with injuries this season. Giorgi Mamardashvili has deputised for Alisson on 18 occasions this season and, although he is contracted for another year, there are reports he could depart this summer.
“Everyone can feel a certain way about it," Van Dijk said, as reported by the Liverpool Echo. "There are rumours but if there is anything concrete then we will all find out. But for me, I’m never worried.
“Listen, there is always going to be a day where you – including myself – will go. But if it’s going to happen – and I have no idea about it and I don’t think at this point he has an idea about it – then we will, as a club, adapt to that.
"We have been through everything together, positive things and some negative things unfortunately as well, so it would definitely be a big blow and a miss but I don’t think, for me, it’s a good idea to think ahead about what could or could not happen.
"He’s very important for me as one of the leaders in the team and I think he is very important on the pitch because I think he is one of the best – in my opinion the best – goalkeeper in the world. He’s trying to be back as soon as possible to help us for the last four games and that’s our main focus.

"Whatever happens after that is not something you should ask me. Would I love him to stay? Of course, there’s no doubt about that."
Alisson has been at Liverpool since 2018, making 332 appearances. His 2025/26 campaign has been undermined by hamstring issues, which have seen him miss the last seven matches. Liverpool are hopeful he could return for the Premier League game against Manchester United this weekend after Freddie Woodman stepped into the void against Crystal Palace.
Another player who could leave Liverpool this summer is Curtis Jones, who is about to enter the final year of his contract, with no signs of an extension being agreed. Jones has filled in at right-back recently and Van Dijk knows his value.

"Of course," the Liverpool captain said when asked if he wanted Jones to stay. "I don’t know what’s going to happen because I’m not the boss. Curtis I thought was outstanding against Everton, was not too much spoken about but especially in possession he was quite a big game-changer, especially in his positioning.
"It’s nice to be in your original position but he is so comfortable on the ball, he understands what is asked from that position."
