Opinion: Everton to take note as 'urgent' Dan Friedkin meeting called in Rome

Everton must follow Roma’s frustrations as Gian Piero Gasperini demands an answer from Dan Friedkin.

Just weeks away from the end of the season and Everton are still in the dark over their plans for the pre-season.

The Friedkin Group arranged Everton to visit the United States last summer, where the Blues played in the Premier League Summer Series.

Everton share Roma question over pre-season plans

There are concerns that Friedkin’s involvement in Everton and Roma could cause issues with UEFA should both clubs qualify for the same European competition.

Other issues also need to be ironed out with the American billionaire, as Roma have now demanded a meeting with him in the Italian capital.

According to Teleradiostereo, Gasperini has demanded an ‘urgent’ face-to-face meeting with Friedkin.

The Italian manager wants to know the details of Roma’s pre-season tour, an update on their next sporting director and the transfer plans for the summer.

Moyes will surely be facing some of the same questions on Merseyside, with no update on where Everton will be heading to for their own pre-season efforts.

Everton are expected to have a big summer transfer window, but there is an apparent breakdown in communication over some of the other plans this summer.

Dan Friedkin would benefit from Everton presence

Although the takeover is now 15 months deep, Friedkin is yet to show his face at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

No Everton supporter will lose any sleep over the matter, but it does raise some questions given his presence in Rome.

Friedkin jetted into the United Kingdom for a golf tournament but failed to visit the Toffees for their home game against Crystal Palace earlier this season.

A lot of positive work has been done by the American, but there may be a few Evertonians who feel a clearer voice from him would not do any harm.
