Opinion: Simon Jordan has got it all wrong with brutal Jack Grealish verdict at Everton

Simon Jordan has had his say on the recent controversy surrounding Jack Grealish.

The Everton loanee is currently recovering from a significant injury, which has kept him out of action since January.

Grealish has revealed his recovery is going well having recently spoken to his surgeon.

What should Everton be willing to pay to bring back Grealish over the summer? šŸ’°

However, the 30-year-old has hit the headlines earlier this week for other reasons, which Jordan has given a poor overview of.

Everton responded perfectly to the Grealish drama, as the club highlighted the positive work the 30-year-old does for the disabled community.

On TalkSPORT, Jordan had a considerably harsher viewpoint, with Grealish coming under fire from the pundit.

ā€œIf I’m the owner of a football club and a player is unfit, he is out of sight, out of mind to some extent. If I see those pictures, it reminds me that I’m paying him Ā£200,000 a week for him to get fit, and I don’t imagine that this kind of conduct helps him get fit,ā€ said Jordan.

ā€œSo, whilst everyone’s allowed to have time off, allowed to have a breather, and allowed to release steam, he’s got no steam to release. He’s not playing.

ā€œWhilst he’s injured, I expect it’s not the happiest of times, but on Ā£15m a year, you can surround yourself with security.ā€

It is quite incredible to see just how far these images of Grealish asleep at a table have been blown out of proportion.

Why Simon Jordan has got his Grealish verdict all wrong

To suggest that because Grealish is recovering from an injury that he is not allowed a day off to unwind or blow off some steam is just ludicrous.

Let’s put things into perspective, the winger has undergone surgery and been limited to walking on crutches for a significant period of time, he most certainly will have ā€˜steam’ to blow off.

That aside, Grealish is not going to play a game of football for another two or three months at the very earliest.

He won’t play a competitive game until August, again, at the very earliest.

Let’s make one thing absolutely clear: Grealish has not broken any club rules by going out with his friends for a social drink.

The Everton loanee has not got himself into any trouble whilst out at the bar, yet the situation is being made out as if Grealish has done something incredibly wrong.

David Moyes is a huge fan of Grealish and he will have been all too aware of what character he was bringing to Everton when he approved his loan signing.

The Scot likes him so much that Everton are in talks to sign Grealish permanently this summer.

At the end of the day, he is still a human being who is allowed to enjoy his life outside of football.

Grealish has remained at Finch Farm to undergo his recovery on his injury, which will have allowed Everton to keep a close eye on how he is maintaining himself.

Any concerns over that and the Blues would not be looking to sign him permanently from Manchester City.
