The 20-year-old has struggled to make an impression under David Moyes on the back of his big-money move from Southampton.

Dibling has admitted he’s enjoying life at Everton despite the clear lack of opportunities being handed to him.

Everton have certainly not lost faith in Dibling despite the struggles he has endured during his first 12 months on Merseyside.

There is a hope that his difficulties could even benefit him in the long run.

Ahead of the summer, Moyes has admitted Dibling will get his opportunity in pre-season to prove his worth.

David Moyes could have handled Tyler Dibling better

To be clear, there is no doubting that when Dibling has featured for Everton he has not particularly set the world alight.

However, Moyes could have helped Dibling a lot more by giving him a longer run in the side before he made the decision to completely exile him.

Everton are internally confident Dibling will succeed, but the 20-year-old is not going to improve by making small cameo appearances in the final 10 minutes of games.

Dibling has only played 350 minutes of Premier League football this season, which is simply not enough to gain any consistency in the side.

Since the end of January, Dibling has played one minute, which came in the win over Burnley.

The summer will hopefully offer Dibling a fresh start, but Moyes could have helped him enter the summer with more momentum by playing him over Dwight McNeil, for example.
