Coventry City are interested in signing Juventus forward Lois Openda after their promotion to the Premier League, according to reports in Italy.
The Sky Blues have reportedly made initial contact to understand the 26-year-old’s situation in Turin, as Openda looks set to leave the Italian giants after a single season.
The Belgium international has endured a frustrating campaign in Italy, scoring just two goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Openda joined Juventus from RB Leipzig last summer on an initial loan, with a €46m option to buy that was automatically activated earlier this month.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Juventus are hopeful of offloading Openda this summer, but any potential exit is unlikely to generate a profit.
The Belgium international’s stock has dropped dramatically amid his difficult season in Italy, with Coventry now among the clubs eyeing a potential summer deal.
The Sky Blues are believed to have been handed the opportunity to sign the ‘sensational’ forward on an initial loan deal that could include an option or an obligation to buy.
Frank Lampard is believed to be an admirer of Openda, who is also said to be of interest to Leeds United ahead of the summer.
Openda joined Juventus following two highly promising seasons with RB Leipzig, scoring 41 goals and providing 18 assists in 93 appearances for the German club.
The 26-year-old netted 24 times in his debut 2023-24 Bundesliga campaign, finishing as the third-top goalscorer behind only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy.
Coventry Keen on Marcelino Nunez
Marcelino Nunez
Gearing up for a busy summer window, Coventry City are believed to be eyeing a ‘shock’ move to sign Ipswich Town star Marcelino Nunez if the Tractor Boys fail to win promotion.
The Sky Blues are believed to have earmarked the 26-year-old playmaker as a potential transfer target amid his impressive debut campaign at Portman Road.
Nunez has registered three goals and 10 assists in 37 Championship appearances for Ipswich, whom he joined from Norwich City in a controversial move last summer.
With his contract running until 2029, the Tractor Boys are in a strong negotiating position and could demand a fee in the region of £20m for the 26-year-old.
