The latest Premier League transfer news as Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and more gear up for the summer window

There are still six weeks until the summer transfer window opens, but clubs are already hard at work behind the scenes. They’ll be figuring out which players are for the chop and which new players they’d like to sign, while also putting in some early groundwork to ensure they win the race to land their desired targets.

We kick off today’s transfer round-up at St. James’ Park, where Newcastle are determined to bounce back and push for European football next season. It looks like Eddie Howe will remain in charge despite recent speculation he could leave the club, but one figure who could be out the exit door is £40m England international Anthony Gordon.

Football reporter Florian Plettenberg claims Bayern Munich have made significant progress in their hopes of signing Gordon - going as far as to suggest that talks have been ongoing for months. He adds that Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is in favour of the proposed move, but that the club have multiple alternatives should Newcastle’s demands be too high.

The 25-year-old has only managed to score six Premier League goals this season, but he impressed in the Champions League, netting ten in 12 outings. He’s expected to feature heavily for England in this summer’s World Cup, after winning over manager Thomas Tuchel with his tenacious attitude.

The 3AM Verdict: Bayern are pretty light when it comes to options on the left wing, with Luis Diaz forced to do most of the heavy lifting. Newcastle are likely to go after a new striker, midfielder and right-back this summer, and they’ll need to free up some funds to make that happen. Gordon has been a top player for the Magpies, but he’s far from irreplaceable. If he’s decided his time on Tyneside is done, it’s time to cash in.

Arsenal and Chelsea ‘make enquiries’ for Real Madrid wonderkid

Meanwhile, Team Talk claim that Arsenal and Chelsea are both said to have tested the water with Real Madrid over a potential summer move for their Brazilian youngster Endrick. The 19-year-old wonderkid has been tearing it up on loan with Lyon this season, and has racked up a mightily impressive 14 goal contributions in 18 matches.

However, Real Madrid are said to have “no intention” of letting their young prodigy leave, and that he’s set to be an important part of their first-team plans heading into the 2026/27 La Liga season. Endrick himself is also said to be keen on continuing on at the club, after successfully proving his worth during an entertaining short-term spell in Ligue 1.

The 3AM Verdict: From a Premier League perspective, it’s a bit of shame. Having another Brazilian talent brimming with flare would have been a lovely addition, but Los Blancos are definitely doing the right thing holding onto a player who’s clearly destined for stardom.

Endrick is a versatile talent, capable of playing on either the right flank or as a centre forward. You would think that both Arsenal and Chelsea would have made their enquiries with plans to use him as the latter - the Gunners already have Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke on the right, while Chelsea have his Brazil teammate Estevao, as well as Pedro Neto.

Liverpool ‘ready’ to accept offer for Alisson

Lastly, it’s over to Anfield, where Liverpool have two big problems to solve this summer: who to sign as their Mohamed Salah replacement, and, what to do about their goalkeeping situation. As things stand, there’s no telling who their number one will be next season, as rumours surrounding Alisson’s future continue to swirl.

According to Football Insider, the Reds are open to parting ways with the iconic stopper this summer, amid heavy links with Serie A giants Juventus. It’s a story that’s been developing steadily over the past couple of weeks, as Liverpool continue to mull over ways to boost their transfer budget this summer.

The 3AM Verdict: With his contract set to expire next year, Liverpool will be keen not to lose Alisson without making any money - like they’ve done with both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Salah. The 33-year-old stopper has enjoyed a glittering career at Anfield, but as his injury issues continue, it feels like it’s the right time for the Reds to cash in.

There are plenty of decent goalkeepers set to be up for grabs this summer, too, with the likes of Man City’s James Trafford and Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel likely to be on the move. The real question is: what exactly does this mean for Giorgi Mamardashvili? He was brought in to eventually become Alisson’s successor, but that plan could now go out of the window.
