“It’s a horrible one” - Gary Neville names fixture where Arsenal will ‘most likely drop points’ before end of the season

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has named the one fixture in which Arsenal could drop points in the Premier League before the end of the season. The Gunners have only three games left in the league.

Arsenal remain the favorites to win the Premier League this season, standing at the top of the Premier League table with 76 points from 35 games. However, Manchester City are six points behind with two games in hand, which means they can tie them on points if they win both their remaining fixtures, bringing the league title down to a battle of goal difference. In other words, the Gunners cannot afford to lose a single upcoming league game to remain in the title race.

According to quotes shared via Metro, Gary Neville has named one fixture where Mikel Arteta's side can lose points in the Premier League. He said (via Just Arsenal):

"I think the game they are most likely to drop points in is West Ham away. That’s the game they should fear most. It’s a horrible one because West Ham are fighting for their lives and need the points."

With only 36 points in 35 fixtures, West Ham United are currently in the relegation zone. Further, the upcoming game will be a home game for West Ham, which means they'll be more motivated to win it to avoid relegation. However, the Gunners will also remain motivated, given that every game will count in their race to end their 22-year wait for the Premier League.

Speaking on BBC's Match of the Day segment, Wayne Rooney backed Arsenal to win the Premier League this season. He said (via Metro):

"I think Arsenal will win it. I felt this after Man City beat them as well. I felt it was maybe in their heads having to go to Man City and losing in the cup final to them. "But I think still being there, level on points after that City defeat, and I think the fixtures are more favourable for them. I think they’ll win every game. And I could see City slipping up in one or two games."

He added:

"I could see them actually being quite comfortable, I think maybe three, five points. I just think they have got a way of playing which doesn’t catch everyone’s eye. But I just think City, with the games they’ve got, it’s congested, they have been there all season, I think it’s their year."

With the Gunners set to battle for the title, they are also set to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals this week, with a 1-1 draw in the first leg. Meanwhile, Manchester City have five games in hand in the league, alongside the FA Cup final against Chelsea (May 16).
