Last summer, Arsenal spent a bucketload on improving Mikel Arteta's squad. The jury is still out on some players and the success of the window will ultimately come down to what happens in the next few weeks.
Should the Gunners win the Premier League title and potentially even take home the Champions League, their business will be judged as an enormous success.
Fall short and questions will be asked of Andrea Berta. Despite scoring 21 times this term, was Viktor Gyokeres the best striker for the team? Was Martin Zubimendi the right midfielder? Was Noni Madueke the right backup to Bukayo Saka?

Either way, they have just a matter of weeks now before the window opens again.
Where Arsenal could strengthen this summer
While last summer was very much about adding a centre-forward to the ranks, this summer must be about strengthening the flanks and adding in midfield.
In the centre of the pitch, a major play for Sandro Tonali has been touted, although their plans to add another body in that area of the pitch may be ripped up after Myles Lewis-Skelly's performance against Fulham on Saturday as a left-sided 8.

That said, the display of Leandro Trossard - who completed six dribbles - must not distract Berta and Co from signing another winger. In that regard, the likes of PSG's Bradley Barcola and Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon have been linked with moves to the Emirates.
Gordon is not the only player at St James' Park on Arsenal's radar, however.

Arsenal's most expensive signings of all time
The Gunners have spent generously in recent years.
Indeed, according to Football Transfers, they are also after right-back Tino Livramento. They claim that Arsenal have held 'positive' talks with the player's agent.
It's revealed that in-depth discussions over personal terms have taken place with there now a firm 'belief' that Livramento wants to join the Gunners this summer.

On that basis, personal terms between the player and Arsenal are no problem. What may be a problem, however, is working out a fee with Newcastle. Previous reports have suggested he may cost upwards of £70m.
Why Saka will love playing with Livramento
Do Arsenal need to sign another full-back this summer? Quite possibly, but it may well depend on the future of Ben White.

The former Brighton defender has enjoyed a recent run in the team with Jurrien Timber on the sidelines but he has been accused of lacking the same discipline and technical ability that made him such a stalwart of the early years of Arteta's reign at the Emirates.
Both players would appear to be rather injury-prone and in that regard, Livramento is unlikely to help matters. The Chelsea academy product has missed over 20 matches this season, missed a further seven in 2023/24 and suffered a dreadful ACL injury back in 2021/22 that saw him absent from 51 matches.

That said, when he does get on the pitch, this is one of the best full-backs in the Premier League, someone who could benefit Saka immensely down the right-hand side.
This term, the Arsenal wide man has not been at the races. His form has deteriorated, largely due to a lack of fitness and as a result, he has registered just ten goals and eight assists in all competitions. We say just because the expectations the winger has set mean he should be aiming for greater heights with his output.
He has also suffered from a lack of consistency from Arsenal's full-backs. It is hard to doubt Timber when it comes to defending, but he does not offer the same potency and overlapping threat that Livramento does down the right flank.
In 2025/26, the Newcastle full-back has registered 5.83 final third entries per 90 minutes, as well as producing 1.56 carries into the final third per 90. In comparison, Timber has made 5.42 entries and completed just 1.10 carries into the opposition's half.
To really rubber-stamp that point, Livramento also completes 0.95 dribbles per 90. Arsenal's current leading option on the right-hand side of the defence manages only 0.48.
While Arteta always prioritises solidity in defence, by adding the Toon star to Arsenal's ranks, he could seriously boost the threat of Arsenal's right flank. Think of him as a modern-day Hector Bellerin.

Time and time again, Saka is doubled up on, but by having Livramento by his side, it may take some of the defenders away so that Arsenal's number 7 can wreak further havoc.
Described as a "potential future England captain" by Theo Walcott, this is a move that would have plenty of plus points.
