Arsenal return to Champions League action on Tuesday night when they host Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s team were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Madrid last week – a game which was marred by VAR controversy. Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring from the spot in the first half, before Julian Alvarez levelled from 12 yards in the second.
The Gunners were then denied a late penalty when referee Danny Makkelie overturned his decision to award the travelling side a spot-kick after a foul on Eberechi Eze inside the Atletico box. Makkelie was sent to the monitor by VAR, and ultimately folded under serious hostility from the home crowd and the Atleti players.
