U18 Premier League
West Ham United 1 (Obi 5) Arsenal 2 (Mooney 11, Zecevic John 46)
Evan Mooney and Louis Zecevic John were on the scoresheet as Arsenal U18s returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory away to West Ham United today.
Coach Adam Birchall again used this game as an opportunity to assess next season’s potential UEFA Youth League team, with Ife Ibrahim making his first league appearance at this level since November.
Zecevic John was deployed at right-back and Brando Bailey-Joseph was brought into the starting lineup, while Saurap Sampang and Teshaun Murisa weren’t involved today. Khari Ranson started in goal.

West Ham beat Arsenal 4-3 at this level less than two weeks ago and one of the scorers on that occasion, Chuk Obi, put them ahead here after just five minutes.
The brother of former Arsenal striker Chido, Obi was also previously at the Gunners’ academy himself before joining West Ham as an U15 player.
Arsenal managed to equalise just six minutes later as Mooney scored his first goal for the U18s on his second appearance at this level.
The sides went into the break level but Arsenal emerged strongest for the second half and took the lead shortly after the restart as Zecevic John scored.
During the second half there were runouts for the likes of Bowen Phillips, Maalik Hashi, Alex Marciniak and Kyran Thompson.
Arsenal saw out the victory and moved up to tenth place in the table with just two games left to play.
