Home comforts: Arsenal are unbeaten in the Champions League this season, winning five of their six matches at the Emirates Stadium
After a controversial draw last week, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid face off again tonight for a place in the Champions League final. This tie is on a knife edge after the two teams could not be separated in the Spanish capital where penalties were the major talking point. Viktor Gyokeres broke the deadlock from the spot but that was cancelled out by Julian Alvarez’s effort from 12 yards before VAR intervened to overturn a second penalty for the Gunners, leaving Mikel Arteta incensed.
One way or another there must be a winner tonight. Arsenal are coming off a fine performance at the weekend and the stadium should be bouncing after a fresh twist in the Premier League title race, but Atleti's firepower does pose a serious threat to their unbeaten run in Europe this season.
Both clubs are chasing a first Champions League crown and whoever emerges victorious will face either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain in the final later this month.
